The Chassis

The idea of a boring old bright aluminium chassis is the exact opposite of the sleek and refined look that Paul was hoping for with the Cosmos Skulltrail build. Of course, these things don't just fix themselves miraculously.

At first, Paul hemmed and hawed about whether to powder coat the case or to get it anodized. But rather than just settle for one or the other across the board, he chose to do a little bit of each. The inner chassis would be anodized black, and the extra accoutrements would be end up being powder coated.

The Top

With the main chassis now properly anodized, it was time to start reassembling the bare structure of the case. First and foremost for this was the top, which needed a bit of a change in and of itself.

The standard top really lacked much flair, instead being fairly muted with its solid black appearance. This simply would not do. So, goodbye old black mesh...

...and hello, new shiny aluminium mesh! The change really brightens up the top of the case.

Once it's mounted, you can see that the difference is already having an effect on the overall look. Of course, it'll look even better once it's matched with some of those awesome front panel pieces we saw.
